摘 要:随着社会经济、文化的发展,广告在吸引顾客、树立品牌和刺激消费等方面发挥着越来越重要的作用。在近几十年,广告更引起社会学、心理学、语言学及媒介学的极大关注。广告英语以它的独特风格和劝说功能成为一门标准的专业语言。修辞在广告英语中起到了积极的作用。它丰富了语言的内涵,加深了语言的说服力。本文从介绍广告及修辞的定义和功能出发,从音韵、语义、句法三方面认真分析了主要修辞手段在英语广告中的作用。

Analysis of the Rhetoric Devices in Advertising English
Abstract: With the development of social economy and culture, advertisements play an increasingly important role in attracting customers, building up the brand and stimulating consumption. Advertisements have, in recent years, aroused great interest in a wide range of academic fields such as sociology, psychology, economics, linguistic and media studies. Rhetoric devices are playing a positive role in adverting English. It enriches the connotation of language and deepens the persuasion of language. The paper starts with the respective introduction of the definition of advertisement and rhetoric and then makes a careful analysis of the use of main rhetorical devices in advertising English from three aspects such as phonologically, semantically and syntactically.
