摘  要：《麦田里的守望者》是由美国作家杰罗姆•大卫•塞林格所创作的一本畅销小说。在主人公眼中，周围的人们和他所处的那个世界无不是矫揉造作的，生活在这种环境之下，他已经变得游移不定，桀骜不驯，脆弱不堪，但却依然保持纯洁善良天性。本文结合其创作背景，着重对主人公霍顿•考菲尔德的各种性格特征进行了分析研究，旨在使读者对小说主人公的形象有一个更加全面的认识，同时更加深入地了解美国的社会状况。

On the Characteristics of
Holden Caulfield in The Catcher in the Rye
Abstract: The paper is an analysis of the characteristics of Holden Caulfield in The Catcher in the Rye, a well-known work created by American writer J. D. Salinger. In the eyes of the protagonist, the people around him and the world he lives in are almost phony. Living in this phony world, he has already become rebellious, vulnerable, yet still remain kind and pure. Here the paper focuses on Holden’s various characteristics against writing background of the novel, aiming to help reader fully understand the image of the protagonist as well the social condition of the United States.
