概括的说影响英语学习者的因素有:学习动机、学习策略、个人性格、年龄、性别、以及家庭环境和社会环境等一系列因素。而动机是语言习得过程中最具有能动性的因素之一。近年来,越来越多的学生意识到英语学习的重要性,对英语的学习也更加积极。但是,我国当前农村中学生英语学习的状况却不理想。一方面学生意识不到英语学习的重要性,而且学生在日常生活中使用英语的机会有限;另一方面,部分学生对英语学习抱有恐惧心理,英语课程对于他们来说甚至成为了负担。这使得对学习动机的探索和研究不仅具有重要的理论意义, 更具有重要的现实意义。
我们不仅要了解英语学习者的学习动机,同时更应该关注为什么部分英语学习者对英语学习动机减退甚至失去英语学习的动机。本研究旨在通过对农村中学学生的英语学习“动机缺失”的情况进行定性定量分析,试图让更多的中学英语教师了解和关注学生英语学习动机减退这一现象,进而积极探索其产生的原因以及如何避免英语学习动机的减退,这既有益于指导英语教师教学,提高教学水平,同时能帮助英语学习者强化英语学习的动机,更好地使用学习策略,以便提高英语学习效果。

Abstract
Motivation is a very important factor which can influence the outcome of students' learning second language (L2).
Generally speaking, the factors that influence English learners are learning motivation, learning strategies, individual character, age, gender, family environment and social environment and so on. Motivation is one of the most active factors in the process of language acquisition. In recent years, more and more students are aware of the importance of English learning, and the learning of English is more positive. However, the current situation of rural middle school students' English learning is not ideal in China. On the one hand, the students' awareness of the importance of learning English, and students in daily life use English limited opportunities; on the other hand, some students of English learning with dread, English courses for them even become a burden. This makes the exploration and research of learning motivation not only has important theoretical significance, but also has important practical significance.
We should not only understand the learning motivation of English learners, but also pay more attention to why some learners of English have the motivation to decrease or even lose their motivation to learn English. This study aims to for rural middle school students English learning "lack of motivation" of the quantitative and qualitative analysis, trying to get more of the middle school English teachers' understanding and paying attention to the students' English learning demotivation this phenomenon, and actively explore its causes and how to avoid the English learning motivation of the decline, it is beneficial to guiding English teaching, improve the teaching level, also can help English learners to strengthen the English learning motivation, the better to use learning strategies, in order to improve the effect of English learning.
