摘　要: 为了进一步加强对英语动物习语的了解，本文根据多种例证和阐述从功能对等的角度试图论述英语动物习语的翻译。本文首先讨论了英汉动物习语的相似和不同之处，然后根据功能对等对英语习语翻译的强大解释力，提出了相关翻译策略，有直译，意译，套译和增译。本研究对英语动物习语的翻译具有实际的指导作用，同时促进了中西方文化的交流。

 On the Translation of English Animal Idioms from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence
Abstract: To the further understand of English animal idioms, this paper attempts to discuss the English animal idioms from the aspect of functional equivalence by meticulously selecting many fresh examples. Firstly, the thesis discusses the similarities and differences between English and Chinese animal idioms, and then according to the powerful explanation of functional equivalence，some strategies have been put forward , such as literal translation, liberal translation, substitution and amplification. The research has practical guidance to the study of the translation of the English animal idioms and promotes the communication between Chinese and western culture.
